Welcome to Treasure Box Preschool!
We are excited to announce that we are currently accepting applications for the 2009-2010 school year!
At Treasure Box, we have established a developmental program that hopefully meets the needs of all of our children at their present level of abilities. As the year progresses, we try to expand those abilities through play activities, dramatizations, games, songs, stories, art, cooking, etc. We try to help children to develop their social skills in a group situation, as well as body coordination, eye hand coordination, and learning skills. In this way we hope to develop the whole child, not just a part of them. Our goal is to accomplish all of these skills, have fun, develop an enthusiasm for school, and the joy of learning.
Treasure Box Preschool, directed by Mrs. Barbara Kocsis and Mrs. Karen Bondy, opened in 1972. For 37 years we have been fortunate to rent space in the Fellowship Hall of Crossroads Presbyterian Church. Our Head Teachers are certified in Early Childhood Education, and our Aides have been on staff for 3 to 21 years. Our music program is taught by a certified Music Teacher.
We are a theme based school using a variety of topics to increase a child's experience. We incorporate language arts, math, science, art, music, social interaction, diversity, gross and fine motor skills into our lesson plans. Some of the units your child will experience are: Learning about ourselves, Hospital (Caring for our bodies), Electricity, Magnets, Dinosaurs, Circus (Opposites), Space, Ocean, Insects and Arachnids (Bugs), Restaurant (Manners), and many more!
